The staff here at BFUMC Nursery School is chosen because of their extensive experience with children and the history they have with the program. Most teachers have had their children enrolled in the nursery school and have chosen the school because of its philosophy on how children grow and develop through play-based experience. Each classroom has two teachers who work together to develop the daily plan and activities. All classroom experiences reflect our belief that an environment that nurtures and encourages social development will enhance a child’s cognitive development. The teachers work collaboratively to ensure that all areas of a child’s development are being supported and developed through diverse and creative classroom experiences.

We encourage parents and teachers to work together to create the best possible experience for the children. This is accomplished through parent participation days, individual parent conferences, family events and parent education opportunities. We consider parents to be partners in their child’s first school experience and encourage them to volunteer in our classrooms.
